Physiotherapy
As a primary healthcare provider a physiotherapist can assess, diagnose and treat your injury through a combination of skill that may include manual therapy, manipulation, exercise prescription, Dryneedling, and Acupuncture. In addition, if appropriate modalities such as ultrasound can be used. Education plays an important role in physiotherapy. The goal of physiotherapy is to return you to your optimum function and strength, while providing you with the knowledge to continue independently for management and injury prevention. Derek has been providing physiotherapy to the Vernon and surrounding areas for over 10 years, with a combined experience as a Kinesiologist for over 15 years. Using a strong focus on manual therapy combined with exercise to meet a variety of rehabilitation needs ranging from sports injuries to post operative injuries. A diverse skill set that also includes IMS/Dryneedling, Acupuncture, Kinesiology & concussion rehabilitation.
Registered Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are regulated healthcare professionals who assess and treat conditions affecting the muscles, joints, connective tissues, and nervous system. Using evidence-informed, hands-on techniques, RMTs help reduce pain, improve mobility, support injury recovery, and promote overall physical function.
RMTs conduct thorough assessments that may include health histories, posture and movement analysis, and palpation to develop individualized treatment plans. Treatments can involve a range of manual therapies such as deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization, Neuro Muscular therapy, and therapeutic stretching aswell as exercise . Care is tailored to each client’s goals, whether managing chronic pain, rehabilitating from injury, improving athletic performance, or supporting relaxation and stress reduction.
In addition to hands-on treatment, RMTs educate clients on posture, ergonomics, movement patterns, and self-care strategies to support long-term health. They work collaboratively with other healthcare providers and practice within a regulated scope to ensure safe, ethical, and effective care.
